1979 B.C.Rich Mockingbird, US, Joey Rico Custom Color Picture(s) and Description:

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Description You are bidding on a US made B. C. Rich Mockingbird Supreme. It was formerly owned and played by Joey Rico, Bernardo C. Rico’s son (Bernardo C. Rico IS B. C. Rich). So this is a special, one-off family instrument. I don’t know exactly what year it is, but it seems to be from about 1978 to 1979 from the features and serial number. Maybe someone that knows B. C. Rich guitars can decode the serial number. It has the cloud inlays, and binding on the neck. Neck wood looks and feels like ebony, but I’m not sure. It is very black though. It is “neck-thru” construction. It has the earlier short horn which I believe was phased out some time in 1978. It has Grover tuners. It is in a custom color mixed up by Joey himself. It is a beautiful purplish blue pearl. I tried to get the pearl in the pictures, but it’s hard to capture. It is a beautiful guitar in person. It has the full active electronics. It works, but I have no clue how to get all the sounds out of all those knobs. I just think it looks cool. I’ve heard some people get an amazing range of sounds out of these B. C. Rich onboard preamps. If you take the time to learn how to use it, you won’t be disappointed. Instructions are available online. The 2009 Vintage Guitar Price Guide has the value of this instrument at $2,750 to $3,400. My reserve is a small fraction of that price and an excellent buy for a US made Mockingbrid of this era. Comes with the original B. C. Rich hard shell case with “Joey Rico” stenciled on it in red paint. It has some minor play wear, but is in excellent condition and was obviously well cared for. See the pictures for the whole story. Shipping, Payment, & Miscellaneous Shipping is a flat rate fee of $65 to anywhere in the continental United States. Item will be shipped fully insured. I accept the following forms of payment: Cashiers Check, or PayPal ONLY. No personal checks! PayPal is always preferred! Fine Print and FAQs Do not bid if you don't, won't, or can't pay. It's just a hassle for both of us. If there’s no Buy-It-Now, I don't close auctions early, so please don't even ask. Yes, if you're bidding on more than one thing, shipping can be combined to save you money. I pack VERY well (how I would want an item packed if I was buying it). If you have any special packing requests, please be prepared to pay more if it costs me more. Please make sure your PayPal shipping address has been confirmed. If not, there will be delays. Communicate with me with the email address you have registered with eBay, or there will be delays while I confirm that you are who you are. Include the item number with all correspondence. DON'T BID if you have NO feedback, negative feedback in the last six months, or "private" feedback, or your bid will be cancelled. Always remember, communication greases the wheels of eBay! If there are any problems or delays, just email me, I'm a reasonable person. I want the transaction to be great for both of us! On Mar-01-10 at 00:28:26 PST, seller added the following information:I have a correction. This is NOT a short horn Mockingbird. This is an El Monte pattern Mockingbird, which I believe is the first shape Mockingbird to be produced. Any corrections or additions are welcome!
