GENERAL INFO The Fender Toronado was produced from 1998 through 2006 as part of Fender's Deluxe Series, built to higher than usual specs. It features two fender atomic humbucking pickups, rosewood fretboard on a maple neck, a tortoise-shell pick-guard, and four chrome knobs (x2 volume, x2 tone). The headstock features the Fender "spaghetti" logo and sports vintage style Gotoh/Kluson tuners. The alder wood body shadows the older Jazzmaster and Jaguar guitars in shape, but is a unique design. It has a 24 3/4" scale length, which is very uncommon for Fender guitars. CONDITION I've had this guitar for about ten years and have taken impeccable care of it. I'm not a stage performer, so it's only been lightly used at home, and spent a good part of its life sheltered in the included Fender gig bag. The only visible wear is the usual pick-guard and rear body scratches (both of which are only barely visible at certain angles in some light, and could be easily removed). Other than that, it's near flawless -- no dings or dents. I haven't changed anything about this guitar since purchasing it new -- all the hardware is original and works perfectly. This guitar was built to last and it shows. It stays tuned for weeks and even though I don't take it on stage, it could clearly take a beating if you need a sturdy axe. SOUND/ACTION, FIT & FINISH The tuners are vintage deluxe tuners and they are SOLID; while the neck is satin smooth with standard dot inlays on a beautiful gliding fretboard. This guitar is very toneful and has a bit of a resonant quality to it. The neck pickup is bluesy, and the bridge pickup bites and snarls. Halfway in between lies a setting that sounds remarkably like a fat Strat. One of the standout aspects of this guitar is it's unique body style and piano-black finish. Coupled with the red tortoise-shell pick-guard, and the fact that only a few of these in this condition are floating around out there, this guitar stands out from the crowd. THIS IS AN AMAZING GUITAR THAT'S NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION. DON'T MISS OUT ON AN OPPORTUNITY TO OWN A PIECE OF FENDER HISTORY!
